Community Update April 6, 2026

Good morning, Wildcat Families,

I hope everyone had a great long weekend!

Assistant Principal Appreciation Week
April 6-10 is Assistant Principal Appreciation Week! We are blessed with four wonderful APs at WCHS. Mrs. Seat, Mrs. Harrington, Mr. Franklin, and Mr. Nash work so very hard and are so invested in our students. Please send them a note of appreciation if you can!

Prom
There is less than a week left to buy Prom tickets!
Prom this year is April 25th from 7-11 at The Mill at Lebanon.  The theme this year is Under the Northern Lights.  Tickets will be $60 (including fees) and will go on sale via School Cash Online for Seniors only on March 16th.  Juniors can begin purchasing their tickets on March 23rd.  The final day for ticket sales will be April 10th.  Any transfer of tickets needs to be approved before April 10th, and any outside guests need to have a Guest Form on file before April 10th as well.   All ticket sales are final.  No tickets will be sold or made available after the April 10th deadline.  A valid ID is required for entry. To purchase your prom ticket, go to https://link.zixcentral.com/u/95ade5f0/kKtQcrkx8RGafiO1pIdf8g?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwilsoncounty.schoolcashonline.com%2F and register with your student's ID number.

Testing
We will begin EOC testing the week of April 20. Next week, I will send out a more detailed testing calendar. These tests are significant- they measure students' growth and achievement, and our teachers and school get graded by student performance on the EOC tests. Our students and teachers have worked diligently this semester, and we are excited to see the growth in our students.

You will enter through the Commons, and the GMS administration will get you lined up for a walk through the GMS halls. Please wear your cap and gown! Parking
Please remind students that they may park only in the designated student parking areas. Our parking patrol, which consists of SPED students, is working diligently to monitor the parking situation every day. Students will face disciplinary actions from me if they park outside of the designated student parking areas. I appreciate your cooperation.

Vandalism
Parents, we need your help. We have students who are vandalizing our bathrooms, and I am tired of it. Our students and staff deserve a school building free from vandalism. The majority of our students show great character and would never do these things, but we have some students who seem to think this type of behavior is okay. Please talk to your children. If a student sees or hears about this type of behavior, please have them report it to an adult immediately. I would hate to have students escorted to the bathroom by hall monitors.
When I find out who is responsible for the vandalism, I will send them to BTA for the maximum number of points, which will be added to their academic record. My janitors, assistant principals, SROs, and staff are tired of dealing with this! Time is spent dealing with this nonsense when the time could be better spent elsewhere.
I appreciate all of the students who do the right thing every day. You encompass great character and what it means to be a Wildcat!

Donations to Wilson Central High School's Principal's Discretionary & Non-educational Fundraiser Account
If parents, guardians, or businesses would like to donate to an account dedicated to teacher incentives, you can donate via the link below. Donations are tax-deductible! "The IRS allows you to claim a deduction for donations you make to qualified organizations, including school district programs that are not operated for profit and are solely supported by state and local governments."
https://link.zixcentral.com/u/7ff791d0/UiSRqZNp8BG2j2TG5F7kRg?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwilsoncounty.schoolcashonline.com%2FFee%2FDetails%2F34143%2F252%2FFalse%2FTrue

The funds donated to this account will be focused on teacher incentives, specifically used for these purposes:
Bereavement Support;
Award recognition;
Employee morale;
Banquets;
Other situations at the principal’s discretion
These donations will allow Dr. Ankney to provide coffee truck mornings for our staff, purchase meals on teacher work days and parent-teacher conference nights, provide flowers and cards for support and encouragement when they lose a family member, retirement gifts, etc.

I hope you have a great week.

It's a great day to be a Wildcat!

Sincerely,
Dr. Ankney
