Good afternoon, Wildcat families,
I cannot believe this is the last week of school. We have had a wonderful year with many great things to celebrate! On Friday, we had a wonderful day celebrating our Class of 2025 with the Movin' Up Pep Rally and a new tradition, our senior parade around the hallways of our school. There were lots of tears, hugs, and smiles. We are all so proud of this class; the future is bright with these kiddos at the helm!
This week-
M | 5/19 | Senior Final Exams
T | 5/20 | |||
W | 5/21 | 3rd, 4th and 5th Exams
R | 5/22 | 1st and 2nd exams |
Final Exams
Board Policy- Unless mandated by the State of Tennessee, High School Juniors and Seniors may qualify to be exempt from taking a final examination in a class if they meet the criteria below:
- A average and no more than 3 unexcused absences
- B average and no more than 2 unexcused absences
- C average and no more than 1 unexcused absence
Any student who has been suspended (in-school or out-of-school suspensions) is not eligible for exam exemptions. This is on a class-by-class basis. For example, if a student is placed in ISS for 2nd block, it would not impact exemption for any other blocks.
Theater News
I want to share some celebratory news with you! First of all Wilson County high school theater programs celebrated at the Nashville Spotlight musical theater awards last night.
Wilson Central was honored with three awards last night. We won an app applause award for technical achievement for singing in the rain. Isaac Deihl won best featured performer in a musical for singing in the rain. James Nelson won best featured vocalist for a musical for singing in the rain. And to top it all off the award that everyone wanted last night outstanding lead performer in a musical went to James Nelson. He will be competing against other winners from across the nation in New York City at the Minskoff Theatre for national recognition. This competition is called the Jimmy Awards and it is a launching pad for a Broadway career. I am so very proud of our program and our students and if you see them, please celebrate with them and congratulate them, they work very hard at what they do to make it look so very easy.

Info from Nurse Baines
It’s time to pick up your student’s medication from the nurse clinic. Any medications/supplies that remain in the Nurse Clinic on May 23, 2025 will be discarded by the nurse. No medications or supplies will be stored over the summer for the next school year. A parent guardian or adult designee must pick up the medications. Medications will not be given to students to transport home. The only exception to this policy is emergency meds such as inhalers, epinephrine, and diabetic supplies. New medications authorizations/plans are required each school year for administration of both prescription and non-prescriptions medications and procedures. The forms are available on our website under student/family (health forms) for ease of completion during the summer. Without proper completion/submission of required documentation/orders - NO MEDICATIONS/SUPPLIES will be accepted and NO PROCEDURES will be performed. Students who self-carry emergency items such as inhalers/epinephrine/diabetic supplies are still required to have these documents completed.
Formal and Casual Senior Pictures for the School Yearbook for Class of 2026 – Rising Seniors
It’s that time! Seniors can start taking their senior pictures for the school yearbook! JHA in Murfreesboro is our contract photographer this upcoming year and we will only use pictures from them. We cannot accept any pictures from outside vendors or photographers for the yearbook. The deadline to take pictures is November 30. If JHA has not taken your senior pictures by that point, you will not be pictured in the yearbook or on the school composite photo. Please note that JHA offers different packages at their studio in Murfreesboro and you can have props such as sports equipment, pets, awards, etc; you can wear multiple outfits and do different poses; and they have different backgrounds that can be used to take senior pictures, so make sure you take advantage of your senior portraits! They will provide formal drape for ladies and formal suit cover for gentlemen. Ladies will just need to have a tank top ready and gentlemen will need a white shirt (to be under the button up and suit they will provide).
On July 21st, we will have our annual FREE senior formal and casual pictures day as well as cap and gown pictures at the school in the Main Gym. You or your parent will need to contact JHA at 615-200-0765 to schedule an appointment for that day at Wilson Central High School. The company will come to the school that day just for seniors. It is a first come, first serve basis for time slots for that day, so call ASAP! For those interested in the July 21st date, please be aware that it is one pose for formal and one pose/outfit for casual. No props allowed and all students that day will have the same canvas background for the casual picture in the small gym. If your senior cannot make that day, they will need to go to JHA in Murfreesboro, TN to get pictures done by December 1st. If pictures are not taken at or by JHA by that date, they will not be pictured in the yearbook!
